Industry Projects

Industry Projects

This program has two objectives: (1) enable PALS Partner Institute (PI) students to complement their classroom education with the opportunity to work on real-world challenges PALS Industry Partners (IP) face, and (2) provide IPs access to academic resources to assist their staff in these areas.

Industry Partners, mainly in core industries provide off-site projects for three months. These projects are awarded in groups as decided by the industry to students based on stated criteria. Each Project Charter is formulated and finalized at the kick-off meeting at industry premises. A PI faculty mentor and an industry representative nominate an industry mentor who is experienced in the relevant field. Students work at their college under the guidance of their faculty mentors, with regular inputs and reviews from the industry mentor. Students make final presentations at IP premises. PALS encourages project participants to share their learning with large student forums at their respective colleges after successful project completion.

Covid-19 Impact: Given ongoing uncertainty, industry projects are likely to be conducted virtually through appropriate technology platforms through the foreseeable future.
