PALS is an educational initiative of Alumni of all IITs under the IIT-M Alumni Charitable Trust (IITMACT) and supported by IIT Alumni Industry Interaction Centre (IITAIIC) for the benefit of students of selected engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu (to start with). Today, PALS offers a year-long program with various activities for the students, faculty and management of Engineering Institutions.

PALS is supported by leading institutions to support its activities. These are termed “Anchor Institutes”. The Anchor Institutes are:

IIT Madras & IIT Hyderabad :

IIT Madras & IIT Hyderabad supports PALS in various activities by providing infrastructure, faculty support, technical guidance etc. IITM & IITH also provides venues for conducting PALS events like Inauguration, Theory to Practice Lectures, Faculty Development programs, Student Workshops, Research@IITM, etc. Many other entities of IITM & IITH – like Director and Deans, Academia and Research scholars, Office of Alumni Affairs, IC & SR, Research Park, RuTag, RTBI, Teaching and Learning Center, Aid Vision, Extra Mural Omnibus – also render their support. IITM & IITH Alumni Association and its chapters are an immense source of strength to PALS.

Regional Anchor Institutes

PALS also gets immense support from Regional Anchor Institutes – NIT, Trichy, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and IIT Palakkad. Like IITM & IITH, these anchor institutes provide venue and resources for PALS activities conducted in these locations.
