Lab To Market is an initiative of PALS planned in line with the PALS theme of the academic year 2022 – 23 “Think like an Entrepreneur”. The idea is to address the market need both at State and Central level for Innovation and Entrepreneurship that is opening in a big way providing opportunities for all areas. The event will be a platform to bring the ideas and concepts from academics to products, that would kindle the spirit of ENTREPRENEURSHIP among the students.
While the Technical Institutions aims at creating professionals in various fields, the preparedness for the students to think, create and transform the knowledge to developing a business is the key we identified as an area we can focus on as a part of PALS . The idea of collaboration, interdisciplinary engagement, capital, market readiness, catering to the demand, creating a demand, thinking and working towards the future are few of the key areas where the students and the institution should think and get ready before they step into the market.
As we worked on the above idea the areas where PALS could bridge the between the MARKET NEED TO INSTITUTIONAL KNOWLEDGE / STRENGTH will be through
- Networking with Industries
- Sharing experiences of successful Academy Led startups
- Start-Up Essentials Program
- Sharing Technology Projects from IITMRP startups. – To gain experience in projects to implementation
- Mentorship of student partners through our partners – Native Leads, IITMEF etc.
- Funding evaluation by our partners – Native Leads, Campus Funds
We are working to enable each of our Partner Institutes’ to be self-sufficient in terms of engaging the right minds with opportunities by becoming an INCUBATOR. There must be a paradigm shift from Knowledge giver to Wealth Creators.
As a part of PALS theme for we have planned to organize a “LAB TO MARKET CONCLAVE” on the 18th of February 2023 at IIT Madras Research Park. We are all set to give an experience to the inquisitive minds, the transformation that can happen thinking beyond labs.
This opportunity will provide a best-in-class platform for all the inquiring minds to experience, share and learn from each other and from the experts on the nuts and bolts of the journey from Labs to Market places. And we will also be recognizing winners of start-up project contest
